Emergency First Response:

The course focuses on primary care through a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure participants have the confidence in their ability to provide care when emergency situations arise.

DAN Basic Life Support:  CPR and First Aid

CPR and First Aid (BLS:  CPR & FA & AED)

The Basic Life Support: CPR and First Aid course is designed to teach the knowledge and skills needed to provide basic life support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)  to adult patients with life-threatening injuries, while also activating emergency medical services (EMS).  The first aid section teaches participants how to recognize medical emergencies and traumatic injuries and provide care while waiting for EMS to arrive.

This course is intended for anyone who might come in contact with divers or diving-related injuries.  It is written to meet the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for Cardiopulmonary Resusciation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

DAN Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Injuries

The Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries course teaches participants to recognize common presentations of diving injuries and how to provide emergency oxygen first aid for these situations. This course is specifically designed as lay-provider training to educate participants to recognize diving-related injuries and to properly use emergency oxygen for that purpose.

This course is intended for anyone who might come in contact with divers or diving-related injuries.  It is written to meet the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for Cardiopulmonary Resusciation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

Pre-requisites:  Current Certification in CPR and First Aid

DAN Hazardous Marine Life Injuries

The First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries course is designed to provide information regarding specific types of injuries caused by marine creatures and the general first-aid treatment for those injuries.  This course also introduces students to the identification of potentially hazardous marine life as well as how to avoid hazardous marine life as well as how to avoid hazardous marine life injuries.

This course is intended for anyone who might come in contact with divers or diving-related injuries.  It is written to meet the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for Cardiopulmonary Resusciation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

DAN Neurological Assessment for Divers

The Neurological Assessment course is designed as lay-provider training in which participants learn to perform a basic neurological examination as part of the initial first-aid care. 

The information gathered while performing a neurological assessment will be useful to help physicians understand the extent of the injury and how it may have changed in the time it took to get the individual into definitive care.

This course is intended for anyone who might come in contact with individuals exhibiting neurological symptoms regardless of possible causes.  It is written to meet the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for Cardiopulmonary Resusciation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

DAN CPR Health-Care Provider with First Aid

The primary focus of the CPR: HCP with First Aid course is to develop cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills at the health care provider (HCP) level. This includes one and two person CPR for adults, children and infants. Also included is locating a pulse or determining that one does not exist. This is an additional skill that sets apart the HCP level of care from entry level CPR courses. During this course, participants will become familiar with the signs and symptoms associated with cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack, as well as respiratory arrest.

This course is intended for anyone who might need to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).  It covers CPR for adults, children and infants with one and two rescuers.

DAN Diving First Aid for Professional Divers

The Diving First Aid for Professional Divers provider (DFA Pro) course is designed to teach the knowledge and skills needed to provide the range of care that may be required for divers in an occupational dive setting.

This course is intended for anyone whose diving activities are part of work-related responsibilities or as a volunteer in a variety of settings.  It can also be used as part of the training required for individuals who provide surface support for divers and their diving activities.  This course is written to meet the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

DAN Diving Emergency Management Provider

The Diving Emergency Management Provider course teaches participants how to recognize common presentations of dive injuries and provide emergency first aid for these situations.  (DEMP) consists of the following four courses: Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries, Neurological Assessment, First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries and Basic Life Support: CPR and First Aid. A dive emergency is rarely a single event. More often than not, separate small problems compound to create a larger emergency.

This course is intended for anyone (divers or non-divers) who might come in contact with divers or diving releated injuries is encouraged to participate in this course.  This course is specifically designed as lay provider training and is written to meet the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.
