How to become a DAN Instructor:

The DAN Instructor Qualification Course (IQC) is the pathway to becoming a DAN Instructor. Active diving professionals who are DAN Members are eligible to enroll in this program. A CPR instruction credential is also required but can be obtained as part of the IQC.

DAN Instructors are scuba diving educators who want to offer dive safety programs to their students. As a DAN Instructor, you can offer your students classes that will help make them better prepared to respond to a dive emergency.

Registered as a Professional Member with DAN.
Current dive professional credential (Divemaster/DiveCon or above) with your traning agency,
Completion of the e-learning DAN Core Module (Introduces Standards, Procedures and How to Teach DAN Programs.
Completion of the e-learning Instructor Module for each course(s) you wish to teach.
Provider course completion is highly recommended.
Must be a current CPR and First Aid Instructor.
- Completion of one of the DAN CPR courses during the Instructor Qualification Course (IQC) meets this requirement.

After completing the Core Module, you will take the appropriate course modules for the programs you are interested in teaching.

Instructors must maintain active teaching status with DAN to contuct DAN training programs. To maintain active teaching status, DAN Instructors must teach or assist with teaching each course in which they are certified once withing a 24-month period.

Emergency First Response Instructor (EFR)

Course Fee $499*

During the Emergency First Response Instructor course, you will build on your skill as an Emergency Responder and focus on developing your instructional abilities to teach these skills to others. The Instructor course provides you with the additional training necessary to teach the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid), Care for Children, CPR & AED courses. Through a multi-media approach of independent study, classroom sessions and practical teaching assignments, you learn to conduct Emergency First Response courses.

Pre-Requisites:

Be at least 18 years old.
EFR Primary and Secondary Care or qualifying training within the past 24 months or hold certain medical credentials.
Note: A CPR/FA Instructor rating is required to become a PADI Instructor

Course Content: Classroom Session

Course Time: 1 -2 days

DAN Basic Life Support: CPR and First Aid Instructor Course

Course Fee $499*

Basic Life Support: CPR and First Aid (BLS: CPR & FA) Everyone should be familiar with the signs and symptoms of life-threatening conditions and develop the skills to respond effectively. In addition to covering the basics of cardiovascular diseases, shock, chocking and external bleeding, this course addresses additional circumstances that may require intervention from Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Help your community build the skills necessary to recognize and respond to medical emergencies.

DAN Emergency Oxygen Instructor Course

Course Fee $399*

Emergency Oxygen for Scuba Diving Injuries (EO2) Scuba diving injuries are rare and symptoms are often subtle, but recognizing problems and inititating appropriate action can speed an injured diver's recovery and minimize lasting effects. Oxygen first aid is one of the initial responses for diving injuries.

Prepare your divers and surface support crews to admimister oxygen first aid as an initial response for diving injuries.

Pre-requisites: Successful completion of a Instructor Qualification Course (IQC) and Current CPR Instructor

DAN Diving First Aid for Professional Divers Instructor Course

Course Fee $699*

Diving First Aid for Professional Divers provider (DFA Pro) course is designed for those who dive as part of their job or volunteer duties and may need to comply with OSHA regulations or other institutional requirements, this course assumes participants will have a higher level of obligation in responding to dive incidents.

Help your fellow professional divers manage incidents with the most comprehensive dive industry first-aid training available.
